Are there any changes we should make?

Note that the Kelvin History website is a newly innovated addition to our school's many historical memorabilias. With the hundreds of biographies already added by a group of dedicated students we are not always opportuned to receive information that would better benefit our alumni biographies. If by chance you feel as though you have some missing details on any particular alumni then we will graciously accept to hear about them from you personally!

Gordon Lawson

Gordon Lawson was born in Dominion City, Manitoba in 1904. He graduated from Kelvin High School in 1920. After graduating, he worked at various banks in Manitoba until 1928. In 1928, he joined the head office of James Richardson and Sons. During his time at James Richardson and Sons, he worked as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice-President of Finance, Senior Vice-President, and Director. He was also a board member for different companies, such as Rolls Royce North America Limited, Bristol Aerospace and Macdonald Brothers Aircraft. He also worked as the Director of a number of industrial businesses, and as the Director for Monarch Life Assurance Company. He was President of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Team (which was known as the Winnipeg Football Club at the time) from 1960 to 1961. He was inducted into the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Hall of Fame in 1985. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Winnipeg in 1974. He died in Winnipeg in 1995.
