Are there any changes we should make?

Note that the Kelvin History website is a newly innovated addition to our school's many historical memorabilias. With the hundreds of biographies already added by a group of dedicated students we are not always opportuned to receive information that would better benefit our alumni biographies. If by chance you feel as though you have some missing details on any particular alumni then we will graciously accept to hear about them from you personally!

Tamara Bernstein

Tamara Bernstein was born and raised in Winnipeg, a 1974 graduate of Kelvin High School. She has become one of Canada’s renowned music critics publishing over 1,300 articles on classical music, mostly in Canada’s national newspapers including The Globe and Mail and The National Post. Best known as the artistic director of “Summer Music In the Garden”, Bernstein has established herself as a prolific writer and documentarian. Bernstein has also written numerous long-form documentaries and features for CBC Radio, including Ideas series on Dmitri Shostakovich, Hildegard von Bingen and Ethel Smyth. She continues to write, currently working on a book of essays on the music of Ann Southam. She has taught a series of courses at Ryerson University’s LIFE Institute.
