Are there any changes we should make?
Note that the Kelvin History website is a newly innovated addition to our school's many historical memorabilias. With the hundreds of biographies already added by a group of dedicated students we are not always opportuned to receive information that would better benefit our alumni biographies. If by chance you feel as though you have some missing details on any particular alumni then we will graciously accept to hear about them from you personally!Suggest a Change

Date of Birth: 1924
Douglas Pollard graduated from Kelvin High School in 1942 and subsequently pursued a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Manitoba. Pollard enjoyed travelling and, throughout his youth, voyaged to both Mexico as an English teacher and to England as a businessman. Eventually settling back in his hometown, he wrote briefly for the Winnipeg Free Press and later began a family printing company. Pollard was a successful businessman through his enthusiasm and sincerity towards his customers. He also fostered entrepreneurship in the community by initiating Junior Achievement in Manitoba, an organization that promotes business skills in high school youth. In 1985, Pollard received the JA National Leadership award for his accomplishments.
